Lynn (Chutimon Chuengcharoensukying) is a scholarship kid and as smart as they come, but that doesn’t mean she’s immune from making some dumb decisions. When her best friend, Grace (Eisaya Hosuwan), asks for some help on an exam the dishonest act of kindness catches the eye of other students in need. Soon Lynn is cheating for an increasing number of wealthy classmates — in exchange for some substantial cash payments — and she justifies it as a way of helping her working-class dad. Their schemes grow in complexity and culpability leading up to an exam with international ramifications.

I am very impressed with this movie. You might think it’ just a typical teenager movie, but no, surprisingly, it stands out with its own intense plot,  brilliant production, and impressive execution.

The cheating schemes were so convincing that you could imagine yourself doing it. The young cast’s performances are resounding enough for you to get thrilled and engage. Yah, it is cheating, but classy.

Overall, Bad genius is one of the most intelligent movies of the year.  It has the balanced between entertaining and educational purposes. It is quite realistic in a sense that all of us became a student who struggled a lot to survive during our school days. Undeniably, we made mistakes, we cheated, we became lazy to study or greedy to have high grades, despite, the importance is what we have learned and how much we have done it right.

Verdict: 10/10

The cheating team

Lynn:  If you don’t cheat, life will cheat on you.

Pat: We get to choose the university, the university doesn’t get to choose us!

Bank: Even when we study as well as each other, it doesn’t mean we act in the same way.

Grace: If I had a brain half your size, I wouldn’t have done something as stupid as this!
