MISS GRANNY (K-movie 2014)

Oh Mal-Soon is a 74-year-old widow that realizes she is becoming a burden on her family. As she is roaming the streets, she comes across a photo studio and dresses up for a self-portrait. When she walks out, she mysteriously regains her physical appearance from the age of 20. Making the most out of this one in a lifetime opportunity, she changes her name to Oh Doo-Ri and decides to enjoy the best of her youth.

I enjoyed this film from beginning to end. I had all the laughter and tears while getting a lot of things into perspective. This movie is about family relationships; a mother’s love that she puts her life on hold for the sake of her son, a granny that totally adores her grandson, a bully to her daughter in law, a bad-tempered and cranky.

Ms. Granny represents the reality of old age. They think that becoming old is becoming useless, that they become less important to their family and societies, that whatever dreams they had left for themselves is no chance to achieve. Sad but this is the inevitable reality of life.

So when Oh Mal-Soon had the second chance to become 20 again, what do you think she’ll gain? In this movie, I truly enjoyed her journey;  the passion, her dream, the humor, the new love, and even her music.

Truly, you will never get bored of the plot along with the characters. Actually, it exceeded my expectation. By the end of the film, you will realize what is more important in your life and you can decide about it.

Recommended to all kinds!

Verdict: 10/10
