ExtraCurricular (Kdrama 2020)

Ji-Soo (Kim Dong-Hee) is a model high school student. To pay for his university tuition fee, he makes a bad choice. This leads to a serious crime that takes place. Min-Hee (Jung Da-Bin) and Kyu-Ri (Park Joo-Hyun) attend the same high school as Ji-Soo and they get involved in Ji-Soo’s crime.

Extracurricular is a teen drama, but not with a cliché. Instead, it’s vast, raw, and dark. You can find almost of the characters annoying, but then, the more you feel irked, the more you can’t stop watching. I think that’s one of their challenging traits.

The plot shows the struggle between morals and desperation for survival. The topic filled with bullying, violence, and sex work. It shows the clarity, the truth, and how society criticizes the character’s choices in this drama. You might find them good, bad, or just how a person reacts to what is presented to him by the situations.

Acting-wise, Story flows, and Cinematography are all solid.

Verdict: 10/10
