A historical film about the siege of Ansi Fortress and the epic eighty-eight-day battle that Yang Manchun and his Goguryeo troops fought against 500,000 invading Tang dynasty men to defend it.
Definitely, this movie is a great battle. It has another level of entertainment. It simply brings you to watch seriously and focus only on what is on the screen. The sequence of action and the battle strategies were impressive. There’s a balance element between drama and war scenes, so nothing is overly done.
In-sung Jo as Commander Yang Man-Chun’s character is very likable. His determination to protect the well-being of his people boost morale throughout the show. Though Nam Joo Hyuk as Sa-Mool’s character did not explore, the other supporting cast shows significant sight in the story. Also, I like the costumes, the cinematography, and the galloping pace which made the 135-minute running showtime worthy to spend.
I enjoy the movie and hope you can too!
