NEVERTHELESS (K-drama 2021)

An uncertain romance begins between a heartbroken woman who no longer believes in love and a flirtatious man who does not want to commit to a relationship.

Nevertheless failed to reach my expectation.

It’s a crystal clear what this drama tried to tell the viewers, the realistic depiction of what dating currently looks like in regards of trust and commitment. The struggle of choosing what is right, even the “red flags” is visible in front of you, a promising portrayal of a toxic relationship.

We’ve been there with this kind of setting from our past love where we struggled, but this drama fails to show us the process of what it is like being in that kind of relationship. Nabi‘s character is painful to watch and so boring while Jae Eon‘s being a jerk and mysterious effect is just a bluff.

Sorry, but I find the story lazy and lack of emotions and purpose. The character development of the two leads are empty. I even appreciate the other cast side story which is better to follow. Nevertheless has only one thing I can acknowledge, the actors visuals are all superb. That’s all.

Why I do this review? Well, I am frustrated and I need to rant.

Verdict: 4/10
